Physiotheripast - Cheryl Danks
Cheryl Danks is a registered Physiotherapist and a credentialed Mckenzie Therapist, practicing in a multi-disciplinary practice.
After qualifying in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy Cheryl went to work in general hospital practice from 1990 to 1991. She then worked in a private practice before starting her own private practice in 1994. In 1998 she obtained a certificate in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy (OMT1).
In 2010 obtained a certificate in Equine Physiotherapy and then in 2011 credentialed as a certified McKenzie Practitioner in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.
Cheryl has as a special interest in spinal care and preventative physiotherapy. She also runs a small animal physiotherapy practice treating horses for musculoskeletal injuries using adapted physiotherapy techniques.
Part of the animal practice is Equitherapy, or horse riding therapy in which horse riding is used to stimulate the vestibular apparatus to assists children with ADHD and general low muscle tone. Cheryl is active in equestrian sport and competes in show jumping.
